Broadway Utica Receives $10,000 Grant from M&T Charitable Foundation to Support Students on Broadway Program

UTICA, October 2024— Broadway Utica is thrilled to announce that the M&T Charitable Foundation has generously awarded a $10,000 grant to support its Students on Broadway youth program. This funding, provided through the Community Foundation, will help ensure that young people in the area can experience the transformative power of theater, enriching their education and cultural awareness.

“At M&T, we are deeply committed to our communities and to making a positive difference in people’s lives, and supporting organizations like Broadway Utica and their Students on Broadway program allows us to do just that,” said David Manzelmann, M&T Utica market president. “We are proud of our community, and we look forward to continued collaboration as we work to further strengthen our neighborhoods and empower our neighbors.”

The Students on Broadway program is designed to introduce local students to the performing arts, offering them free or significantly reduced access to Broadway shows, educational workshops, and other artistic experiences. By connecting students with professional productions, Broadway Utica aims to inspire creativity, foster personal growth, and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

“We are deeply grateful to the M&T Charitable Foundation for their support,” said Danielle Padula, Executive Director at Broadway Utica. “This generous grant will allow us to continue expanding the Students on Broadway program, giving more young people the chance to engage with theater in meaningful ways. With the help of the Community Foundation, we are ensuring that the arts remain accessible and impactful for our youth.”

This grant is part of Broadway Utica’s ongoing effort to make theater an integral part of the community and ensure that it remains a source of education, entertainment, and inspiration for future generations.
