My husband and I belonged to Broadway theater for over 30 years. He died in October 2021.We had 5th row center seats and it was our best nights out together
Walking into the Stanley Theater is like taking a trip back in time. From the beautiful facade out front to the Fabulous Stairwell and decore as we entered the Building. The volunteers welcoming us in and guiding us to our seats. The smell of popcorn invited us to purchase a bag to enjoy the performance. The lights flash to tell us it's almost time for the show to start. As we nestled into our seats, the light lowered and the music begins as the curtains open. The performers amazed us with their acting skills as I only assume they have been doing since a young age. As the performances go on from scene to scene, we laughed, we cheered and even cried alittle. It was Truly a Wonderful experience. I am not picking just one show as they all have been Extremely Entertaining. If you have not attended a show at the Stanley theater, don't wait...Buy your tickets before the New Seasson starts. You won't be Disappointed.
I have had a subscription to Broadway Utica for over 25 years. It is one of the best places for entertainment in the Utica area. The Stanley Theater is a gorgeous facility with great lighting and audio. The shows Broadway Utica brings are a great mix of old classics and new hits. There is something for everyone, from holiday shows for kids up to Grandparents. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, too. Check their Facebook page for updates and discounts when available.
The Broadway Theater League in Utica hosts major touring shows since the renovation of our historic Stanley Theater, a truly classy venue with great seating. We have been to numerous shows and truly enjoyed each and every one of them. One of my most favorite shows I recently attended was My Fair Lady, which I never imagined I could see in a local venue. We are grateful that the Broadway Theater League brings in such excellent shows and wonderful opportunities for our area!
I've attended the Broadway Theatre League of Utica at the Stanley since the early 80's and have watched the Stanley be rejuvenated and updated for sound, ease of entry and a much needed increase in the Ladies' room.
The programing has also improved each year with a reduction in recent years of repeating the same old shows and obtaining newer and much more innovating entertainment.
It would be nice to see the flexibility of exchanging a subscription play for an optional one which was done in past years. If for no other reason than scheduling conflicts or having seen the same play in recent years.
For the price the talent is professional and extremely entertaining. I have suggested subscriptions to many friends.
