In celebration of the highly anticipated launch of The Sound of Music national tour right here in Utica, Broadway Utica is shining a spotlight on the remarkable women of Central New York who inspire us every day.

From August 18–22, we invite you to nominate an extraordinary woman who embodies the courage, creativity, and compassion of Maria herself. Just like the beloved heroine who sings her way into hearts while solving problems with optimism and grace, these women bring change, kindness, and leadership to our community in ways both big and small.

Whether she’s a community leader, a neighbor who’s always there in a crisis, an artist inspiring the next generation, or a friend who turns challenges into opportunities — we want to hear her story.

How It Works

• August 18–22 – Call for Nominations opens. Submit your honoree using our online form.

• August 23–25 – Broadway Utica will review all nominations and select a group of honorees.

• September 4 – We’ll announce winners on social media.

• September 5–6 – Honorees will be invited to attend a performance of The Sound of Music as our special guests.

Nomination Criteria

Nominees can be of any age, but should:

• Make a positive difference in the community

• Solve problems with compassion, creativity, or boldness

• Embody the spirit of leadership and kindness
